Logging into Gmail using HTTPS
As known Gmail by default only uses HTTPS for login purposes, all communication between your browser and Gmail servers post Login, happen over HTTP. i.e. in plain text format which anybody evesdropping over on your wire can listen to.
Earlier i had written, how you can manually make Gmail communication go over HTTPS. However, now, we have a easier way to do so. In order to enable Gmail to use HTTPS always, follow the steps mentioned below.
1.) Login to your Gmail account.
2.) Click on the link ” Settings “.
3.) Under Settings and within the General Tab, scroll down till you see Browser connection.
4.) Select “Always use https” and press the button “ Save Changes “.
From now on, gmail shall always be using HTTPS for all communication between your browser and Gmail servers.
