Search for Magazine Editions using Google Book Search
Though, many magazines these days do provide an online subscription model for viewing the magazine online. However, If you are someone who always wanted to be view magazines over the internet for free, there is some good news for you. Google is now partnering with various Media publications and various publishers to begin digitizing Magazines and millions of articles from titles as diverse as New York Magazine, Popular Mechanics, and Ebony. 1.) Follow your browser to point to Google Book Search.
2.) Type in the name of the magazine of your choice. However, do have in mind that all titles are not available yet with Google. For eg. if you are looking out for the Ebony Magazine, type in Ebony in the search.
The search results will have the details of the magazine also with the View type. Most of the magazines right now are Limited Preview, however, Google does have Full View magazines as well.
Is Google Planning to add more magazines into the search?
Well, Yes. Google says,
Over time, as we scan more articles, you’ll see more and more magazines appear in Google Book Search results. Eventually, we’ll also begin blending magazine results into our main Google.com search results, so you may begin finding magazines you didn’t even know you were looking for. For now you can restrict your search to magazines we’ve scanned by trying an advanced search.
