Now you can Embed YouTube videos into SlideShare Presentations

SlideShare the company i am pretty much amused about, and term it the Youtube of Presentation after announcing the SlideShare ribbon for Microsoft Office earlier has now announced Embedding of Youtube Videos into your SlideShare presentation.
This particular move from SlideShare is interesting from the perspective that most of the good presentations do have some or the other form of Video links in them.

SlideShare blog says

Starting today you can embed YouTube videos into SlideShare! Yes, its really easy. After uploading your video, go to “Edit” and choose the Edit YouTube video tab. Choose the slide and paste the embed code for the video. We will add a slide in that spot with the video embedded.

So in short, all you need to do is, grab the embed code from the video website for the video of your choice, edit the slideshare slide and paste the embed code. SlideShare will embed the Video instead of the embed code.

Below slideshare presentation is an interesting demonstration of the same.

  1. Have you ever visited authorstream.com? I guess they handle PowerPoint use case better than Slideshare.

  2. great!

  3. an improvement but the embeding is still limited to youtube. kinda hard to see the big deal when there are a number of programs like empressr that offer more visual tools, are free, and can embed most anything from youtube videos to have your presentations include a live twitter response feed
