Reasons like this are known for popularizing services like YouSendIt which allows you to send huge files without any fusses. The other way out is to only link and not attach files in Outlook. The conventional way of using services like YouSendIt involves you to go to the site, enter information like Name, Email Address, File to Upload etc and the service sends an email to the recipient with a download link to the file.
