I have already written about posts before which talk about services which can help you send free fax in my posts [How-To] Send and Receive Faxes over the Internet for FREE and Turn your Mobile Phone into a portable scanner,copier and fax machine with Qipit. In this post, i will talk about another interesting service called TPC which lets you send Free Fax to anywhere around the world ( do watch out for the coverage though).

The TPC service is a collection of FAX servers you may use to send a fax to many locations around the world. TPC offers a Remote Printing Service which can be used to send free faxes. There are several ways to use the Remote Printing service, and the WWW form offered by the website is one of them. The more versatile way involves sending your fax by email with a correctly formatted e-mail address (the WWW page does it all transparently), and allows you to include files which contain much more formatting than just the plain ASCII text you can send here.

Before sending a fax, do ensure that you have checked the coverage by entering the fax number in the input box at this page. 

Send Free Fax through an Email with TPC

To send your fax via e-mail, start your mail software and compose a new e-mail message. You must send the email to remote-printer.recipient_name@fax_number.iddd.tpc.int where recipient_name is the name of the person you wish to send the fax to. Similarly, replace fax_number with the fax number. Do not use long distance and international access codes. Begin with country code (1=USA, 44=UK, etc). Also remember, Maximum number of digits is 15. 

For eg, If an email is sent to

remote-printer.Arlington_Hewes/Room_403@14959682590.iddd.tpc.int , this will send a fax to the number 495-968-2590 (the first ‘1‘ at in the fax number is the country code for the USA) 

The coversheet will look like this:

Please deliver to:

Arlington Hewes

Room 403

The message content of the e-mail follows on separate pages of the fax transmission. An e-mail message will be sent back to you confirming the fax was sent, or information about any problems.
