[Microsoft Outlook] Great Performance Hotfix from Microsoft’s Outlook Team

Microsoft’s Outlook Team is all set to release a performace hotfix for Microsoft Outlook which improves performance. The fix will improve Microsoft Outlook’s performance, especially when you have the stress of large PST files. The hotfix will be part of the Office 2007 Service Pack 2 next month. However, if you are eager, you can download the hotfix from here

There are also reports from various customers describing first-boot wait times ranging from 5 minutes to over one hour upon successful installation of the hotfix. The reason for these wait times has to do with Outlook rebuilding your Outlook data files (.PST) files as a result of newly applied fixes. So, the more data you have in Outlook data files (.PST) files, the longer it will take Outlook to rebuild them before your first Outlook session can begin, after installing the hotfix. This rebuilding process does not change any of your data.
