[Windows] Delete Locked Files and Folder with Unlocker

If you are struggling with deleting a File or a Folder and getting beleagured by the error message which says “Cannot delete Folder: It is being used by another person. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again”, its time you make yourself familiar with a simple to use, free for all utility called Unlocker. 

Unlocker is an Explorer extension that allows you with a simple right-click of the mouse on a file or folder to get rid of error message such as error deleting file or folder, cannot delete folder: it is used by another person or program.

In order to get started with Unlocker, download and install Unlocker. Once installed, follow the steps below

1.) Right click on the file or folder you wish to delete ( the one which is giving errors when trying to delete file or folder). From the context menu, select Unlocker.

2.)  If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear. 

3.) Simply click Unlock All and you are done. 

Personally, i have had a situation ( this was the case of Trojan where Unlocker too wasn’t able to delete the selected file, however, in such cases, Unlocker does give an option wherein you can select the file to be deleted as soon as Windows reboots.
