Drop.io , the easy to use, online collaboration and file sharing service which provides users with a simple, real time and private way to chat and share images, video, audio, documents and other digital content through unique, user-created and controlled sharing points called ‘drops.’

Using drop.io you can even send Fax with Drop.io . However, the point to remember is, that faxes can only be sent to Phone numbers in US. To send a fax, you will have to sign up for a premium account which will run you $10 a year for the least expensive upgrade. Though, sending faxes through drop.io is only available for premium users, receiving faxes on the other hand is available for free for all users.

How To Send A Fax from your drop to a recipient

1. Right-click on the file you want to send and then select ‘fax’.

2. Enter the 10 digit fax number of the recipient (remember, drop.io fax service is US only) 

Note: it may take up to 2 minutes per page to send. For security reasons any US fax number can ONLY receive two faxes from drop.io per hour.

How To Receive a Fax into your drop 

1. Go to your drop and click ‘receive a fax’.

2. Email the cover sheet to the person sending the fax to your drop OR click ‘this coversheet’ and send the custom drop.io cover sheet to the person sending the fax.

3. The sender must put the drop.io cover-page on top of the fax. 

4. The fax will appear in your drop as a .PDF .

Note: To be clear, to fax a document into a drop you must use the drop’s custom ‘cover page’ – give the cover page to the fax sender and you are in good shape (email it to them, print it and send it to them, whatever you want) 

If you are having trouble receiving faxes, please make sure that the sending fax is set on ‘highest’ resolution. Faxes sent with any lower resolution will not work.
