Bing, the latest search engine from Microsoft is already making lots of news and has also helped Microsoft up its stake in the search market. I wrote about adding custom google search box on your website, in this article, i will walk you through step by step instructions for adding custom search box which helps visitors search your website and the web using Bing.
The search box powered by Bing provides a fast, customizable search solution for your website or blog. Visitors to your site can search the entire Web, just your site, or any sites that you choose. Before you get started, please read the Terms of Use.
Bing offers two types of search boxes
1.) Basic Search Box: Basic Search Box displays results on the Bing website. Searches a single site that you specify, or the entire Web.
2.) Advanced Search Box: Displays results on your site. Searches multiple sites you specify, the entire Web, or applies a Bing Macro.
In order to add an Advanced Search Box on your website, follow the steps mentioned below
1.) Navigate to the Advanced Search Box setup website by clicking here.

2.) Advanced Search Box can display upto three different types of searches. The search box can be used to search sites, search bing macros and even search the web. Fill in the necessary fields available on the form.

3.) Once you have configured how your search box works, you will be prompted to choose how it looks on your website. This configuration involves setting up colors, width of the search box, results pane etc…

4.) Next, you will be presented with the code for the search box. You can paste this code in your webpage where you intend to have the search box.
