Textfree Lite is an iPod touch and iPhone application which lets you send texts ( sms messages) for free to US mobile numbers. Textfree offers two versions of the program, the Lite version allows for sending 15 free messages daily and is ad supported, while the Textfree unlimited allows sending unlimited texts daily.

Important Features provided by Textfree Lite

1.) Supports almost every carrier in the US. So you need not worry about the carrier your friends are on. Supported carriers include AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Alltel, Virgin Mobile, US Cellular, Cellular One/Dobson, Boost Mobile, Metro PCS, Unicel, Sun Com Wireless, Cincinnati Bell, Cellular South, Tracfone, NTELOS, Cricket Wireless, Centennial Wireless, Midwest Wireless, Surewest, Alaska Digitel, Northcoast PCS, YC, ACS Wireless, and Advantage Cellular.

2.) See your friends picture in your inbox.

3.) Textfree remembers who you texted recently, so you can address them quicker next time.

4.) Include playful emoticons.

Once you have installed the Textfree Lite application, In order to send a text message using Textfree, simply open up the Textfree app and  tap on the Create New Message icon in the upper right hand corner.  You can then enter the phone number of the person you want to text or select from you contact list.
