In short, InstaCalc is a web based calculator that includes spreadsheet capabilities, unit conversions, and programming commands. It can be embedded in a web page, can be edited and also displayed as charts and shared using a link.

Developed by Kalid Azad, a former Microsoft employee, Instacalc also allows you to share a calculation using a link. If you like, you can save any page as a link. This is a regular link that you can bookmark, email, or add to a webpage. At this point, the link is as public as you make it – anyone you give it to can see the calculations inside.

In the end, InstaCalc is certainly a very efficient and quick way of sharing numbers and calculations, and as Techcrunch says; InstaCalc is obviously only capable of so much, but it is a fast, loose way to share numbers and formulas in a blog post or other site. It’s really quite remarkable, I think.
