Salesforce Offers Force.com Users Free Sites
Salesforce has announced the availability of Force.com sites using which companies can build and run any website on Salesforce’s cloud platform called Force.com. This is the same platform which runs the company’s sales and service apps.
Not just basic sites. Sites running on Force.com include a database, integration with your back end systems, workflow and approval rules, analytics and more.
Gordon Evans says on the Salesforce blog
A revolutionary new capability of the Force.com platform, Force.com Sites allows you to run your Web site and Web applications in our cloud. No hardware. No software. No infrastructure required. Just your Sites and our Cloud.
Over the last few months, 85 companies had access to the Force.com Sites customer preview. The sites and apps they built had 38 million page views and served more than 5 terabytes of data.
Getting started is easy, your Force.com Free Edition account includes everything you need to start building apps today including free online training, educational videos and a library of free app templates.
Salesforce is letting Force.com users build and run their first site for free. This should be an attractive offer for quite a few people.
