[How-To] View Experts-Exchange Content for Free
Experts Exchange is a professional forum for sharing and collaborating between IT professionals. However, as Experts Exchange is not a free forum, you need to have a professional account which is a paid account in order to get to view the answers to the questions posted. Experts exchange doesn’t even provide a free read only account. However, you do get a 7 day free trial.
However, nothing to worry, when all things fail, Google comes to our rescue. Experts Exchange pages are allowed access to the Google bot. This article describes how you can get “read-only” access to the experts exchange pages. Please bear in mind that the pages need to be indexed and cached in Google’s cache in order to have this trick work. This page makes use of the Experts Exchange pages in Google’s cache.
1.) Have the Experts Exchange url handy. ( For eg, when looking out for a question on Firewalls, i got this url http://www.experts-exchange.com/Security/Software_Firewalls/Q_24347841.html)
2.) Open www.google.com on your browser. Enter the URL you have from step 1 in google.

3.) The url if indexed and cached by Google will turn up in the google search you just mentioned. ( as shown above). Click on the link which says “Cached“.

4.) This will open the Experts Exchange page from Google’s cache. You will have to scroll down to see the actual answers. On the top, experts exchange will ask you for login credentials. Keep scrolling down andyou will get the answer.

5.) The cached page also has a date when the page was last cached by Google.
The other way out is by going through BeTheBot which allows you to access a webpage as the Google or Yahoo bot would see it. You can read my review about it in my post titled Be the BOT: Fool websites by changing your Header.
By the way, a free alternative of Experts Exchange is IT Knowledge Exchange , which is part of the Techtarget network. check out my review about it in my previous post IT Knowledge Exchange: A free edition of Experts Exchange.
