The latest iPhone 3G S released by Apple on the 19th Jun has an impressive battery indicator which shows the available battery strength in percentage terms giving a better idea about how far your iPhone can still go.

The video embedded below shows you step by step instructions on getting the same battery indicator for all iPhone and iPod touch models.

In order to get started with this hack, you will need a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch. The video explains the hack for iPhone, principally iPod Touch hack also works on the same principle, just that the file that needs to be edited is different.

Here are the filenames you need to edit

iPhone 3G = n82ap.plist
iphone 1st gen = m68ap.
