[PlayStation] PS3 Firmware 3.0 Release Rumored to have Major Fixes and a Huge Overhaul

As per the blog post by VG247, Sony’s PlayStation 3 is up for a major overhaul. PS3 Firmware v2.8 was released a few weeks back.

As per the blog post, PS3 Firmware v3.0  will be a ”a completely new system,” and the overhaul would be comparable to Microsoft’s New Xbox Experience “in some respects.”

The new features presented in Sony PlayStation 3 firmware v3.0 , as reported by VG247:

• Player reputations.

• Grief reporting.

• Background patch downloading.

• Simultaneous HDMI and digital audio output.

VG247 also says that there are many other features which they have been informed, however, they are for some reason not disclosing them. An update to the blog though shares a quote from a Sony official who has termed these rumors as “Baseless”.
