Next Upgrade to Yahoo Messenger For iPhone will have Push Notifications
Apple released iPhone 3.0 OS on June 19th and with it Apple has got the Push notifications capability.Push notifications refers to the notifications received by the device without first contacting the server asking for updates.
In a blog post, product manager Sarah Bacon wrote
For Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone, this means you’ll get notified when a new IM message arrives, even if you aren’t actually running the app. Our new version with push notifications is not ready yet, but we wanted to let you know that we are working on it and hope to have it out soon.
While Sarah hasnt given any dates about this upgrade, but in my opinions this is definitely a much awaited enhancement for all those who use Yahoo Messenger from their iPhone or iPod Touch while on the move.
