[iTunes] Sync Any non-iPod MP3 player with iTunes Using iTunes Agent

While iTunes is definitely an amazing to use music player and organizer which comes for free, the biggest issue with iTunes, it doesnt by default supports non-iPod/iPhone devices. To overcome this problem, a freeware called iTunes Agent is the software to bet on. iTunes Agent enables many non-iPod MP3 players to be used with iTunes. The software enables you to synchronize your MP3 player with an iTunes playlist automatically, or with two small mouse-clicks.

iTunes Agent is a small application resting in your system tray constantly looking for new MP3 players and other music capable devices connecting to your system. When a device it recognizes is connected to the system, it will create a playlist for the device in iTunes and it will synchronize that list with tracks on your device.

You may then modify this list, add and remove tracks, before you tell the iTunes Agent to synchronize the list with your player.

Installing and configuring iTunes Agent

1.) Once installed, iTunes agent will prompt you for configuration. You can say “NO” for the configuration. This indicates that this is the first time you are using the iTunes agent and that you don’t already have a profile which you need to transfer.

2.) Next,iTunes will launch and a pop-up should indicate that iTunes agent is ready to sync non-iPod mp3 devices.

3.) In order to add a new device, ensure that its connected, once connected, right click on the iTunes Agent icon available in the system tray and select preferences.

4.) Press New. iTunes Agent now throws up a warning which indicates that during the first sync, all the data already present on the mp3 device will be erased. This is an important warning and you must ensure that you dont have any sensitive data ( which you can’t afford to lose) on the device before the sync.
