[HTTP File Server] Share Your Files Using HFS
HFS is an interesting open source, free to use software which allows you to send and receive files over the network. HFS is different from classic file sharing because it uses web technology to be more compatible with Internet. One of the classic use case ( and infact the reason why i am using it so heavily these days) of HFS is that it allows you to access your files remotely from any browser. Once you have installed HFS and configured the files for which remote access should be allowed, you can access the files even through your mobile.
Various Features Provided by HFS (HTTP File Server) are
1.) Support for both Download and upload of files.
2.) Virtual file system.
3.) Highly customizable.
4.) HTML template.
5.) Bandwidth control.
6.) Easy/Expert mode.
7.) Logs for easy debugging and monitoring.
8.) Full control over connections.
9.) Create multiple accounts.
10.) Dynamic DNS updater.

In order to get started with File Sharing using HTTP File Server (HFS), download HFS from here. HFS is a single executable file. So there is no need to install. Once you have downloaded and instantiated HFS, you need to configure it by adding the files for which you would like to provide remote access. HFS allows you to add entire directories as well. Once configured, you can access it from a browser ( local or mobile or remote) by typing in the IP Address of your computer from the remote/local network. Ensure that you are typing the public IP address and your computer accepts requests on the public IP address.
HFS is open source, free to use HTTP File Server. Do give it a try and share your experience in the comments section below.
