[Windows] Reduce Boot Time Of Your PC With Startup Delayer
Earlier i wrote about a freeware application called BootRacer which allowed you to calculate the time your PC takes to boot. I get a lot of emails and comments asking me for the real reasons behind long boot times. While the reasons can be plenty, ranging from little free hard disk space, little Random Access Memory (RAM), lot of applications configured to startup with Windows, a very fragmented hard disk.
In this article, i will introduce you to another freeware application called Startup Delayer which allows you to setup how many seconds after Windows has started, to load each program.
If you are interested in learning about how Startup Delayer actually helps your computer boot up fast, it goes like this; When Windows loads it’s Startup file, it attempts to load every program in there at the same time. Therefore if you have quite a lot of programs starting when Windows starts, each program will try and grab CPU time so that it can load.
Now, while Windows is still booting up, If each program tries to load up and grab the CPU at the same time, your computer slows down owing to the fact that each program is consuming an extra bit of CPU and your hard disk is busy writing and reading data to load up and start the programs.

In my opinion, Startup delayer is definitely one of the easy ways to get your system booted up and running in less time.
Startup Delayer is free to use and works on Windows Vista, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 98.
