[Subtitles] Open Subtitle Translator Translates Subtitles for Free

In my earlier post titled, [Subtitles] 5 Best Websites to look for Movie Subtitles i wrote about  5 websites which can help you find subtitles for movies of your choice. While finding subtitles is not tough, finding them in the language of your choice is quite tough. Open Subtitle Translator is an open source utility which helps users translate subtitles in language of their choice.

Open Subtitle Translator translates SRT subtitle files line by line by sending the speaks to the google language tools and filling the with the new one translated.

In order to get started with translating movie subtitles into a language of your choice, follow the steps below

1.) Download and install Open Subtitle Translator by clicking here.

2.) Select the .srt files you wish to translate.

3.) In order to setup the translation options, click on the menu item titled “File” . Next click on “Options”.

4.) Select the Language option of your choice for the translation to work as you want it to work.

5.) Once you are through with the setup, click on the button with tootip marked as “Start Translation ” or select menu item titled “Translate” and then click on “Start Translation”.

Translated subtitles can be saved by clicking on the menu item titled “File” and next clicking on “Save”.

Open Subtitle Translator has been written using Java and therefore you can run it on any operating system ( ensure that you use the Jar file and not the exe).
