Samsung MPower 699 is World’s First OMH Phone
Samsung has announced MPower 699, worlds first CDMA phone to use Open Market Handset technology (OMH). The phone will be released in India. OMH Technology allows a phone to be used on any CDMA network. Reliance and Tata Indicom are the key CDMA providers in India.
Earlier, users had to buy a phone from a particular CDMA operator to use their service but with OMH enabled handset, a user now only needs an OMH SIM card from any operator and can use on this phone.
Samsung MPower 699 is a slider phone and comes pre-loaded with features like FM Radio, Music Player, MicroSD card support, 1.3 MP Camera with video recording and a Mobile Tracker. The phone will be available for INR 7100 ( close to $145).
