iTunes 9 Released (Gets Much Wanted App Management Feature)
As expected, Apple has released iTunes 9 at the Apple Rock and Roll Event. The latest version brings with it host of new features and enhancements. This article describes all the new features available with iTunes 9.
iTunes LPs
iTunes LPs are what you can call modern day record albums. Alongwith the album you will also get animated lyrics and liner notes, you will also be able to watch performance videos, view artist and band photos, and enjoy other bonus materials.
Improved Syncing
With iTunes 9, it’s easier to organize all the apps on your iPhone or iPod touch, because now you can do it right in iTunes, right from your computer. Shop the App Store on your computer, iPhone, or iPod touch.Then go to your iTunes library to arrange (and rearrange) your apps and add (or delete) Home screens.
iTunes automatically syncs your new Home screens with your iPhone or iPod touch.
iTunes Extra
With iTunes Extra, when you buy “select” movies, you just wont get a movie, you will also get extras like interviews and trailers, photo galleries and other relevant bonus material which you got to see only on a dvd till yesterday.
Genius Mixes and Social Networking
This new feature searches your iTunes library, finds songs that go great together, and creates multiple mixes you’ll love. All automatically. These mixes are like channels programmed entirely with your music. The mixes which iTunes used to create earlier were based on an artist but the Mixes which come with iTunes 9 are pretty different. When it comes to Social Networking, Apple’s not done much, all you get are links to share the items from iTunes on your Facebook or Twitter account.
Home Sharing
With Home Sharing, you can browse the iTunes libraries of up to five authorized computers in your house, import what you like, and automatically add new purchases made on any of the computers to your own library.
Apart from the above listed features, iTunes Store has also got a refined new home with better design and navigation which make it easier to explore songs, movies, TV shows, and more.
By the way, if you are a Palm Pre owner, iTunes 9 will no longer work for you. Wait for an update from Palm before you are again able to do so.
Apple earlier slashed down prices of iPod Touch and iPod Nano. At the event, also announced was a 64 GB iPod Touch which costs $399. While, some case manufacturer did release cases for the iPod Touch with camera, Apple decided not to unveil the product during the Rock and Roll event citing quality issues, iPod Nano however has got a camera.
