[Facebook] Tag Friends in Status Updates
Facebook has added a new feature which will allow you to tag your friends in Status updates as well. In my opinion, This feature will certainly be a cool addition as it will allow people to know who and what you’re talking about in your status update.
Now, when you are writing a status update and want to add a friend’s name to something you are posting, just include the “@” symbol beforehand. As you type the name of what you would like to reference, a drop-down menu will appear that allows you to choose from your list of friends and other connections, including groups, events, applications and Pages. Soon, you’ll be able to tag friends from applications as well. The “@” symbol will not be displayed in the published status update or post after you’ve added your tags.

As per Facebook, users will soon also be able to tag friends and other users from applications as well. Those who are tagged will receive notifications and wall posts, with links to the tagger’s post. Users will also have the option to remove the tags of themselves.
The feature is being rolled out and it might take next few weeks before the entire deployment is through.
