Google Chrome 3 Graduates to Stable From Beta
Google Chrome, the web browser from Google has released another stable version. The version is numbered as 3.0.195.21 and includes various features and updates like themes support, a brand new new tab page, an updated omnibox, support for audio and video tags, and a higher performing V8 engine.
Some key highlights of the latest Google Chrome 3 Stable release
1.) The latest stable version of Google Chrome i.e Chrome 3.0.195.21 is 150% faster in Javascript performance since very first beta of Google Chrome, and by more than 25% since the most recent stable release.
2.) The New Tab page sports a new look ( which is definitely much sporty) and is easily customizable. You can rearrange thumbnails of your most-visited websites by simply clicking and dragging your mouse. Additionally, you can pin thumbnails to a spot so they don’t disappear even if your browsing habits change. This way, you can easily get to the websites you care about with just one click.
3.) The OmniBox has been optimized and with the latest stable release, the presentation of the drop-down menu has been optimized.
Also, little icons have been added to help you distinguish between suggested sites, searches, bookmarks and sites from your browsing history.
4.) Google Chrome 3.0.195.21 adds HTML 5 capabilities and support for <video> and <audio> tags. The <video> tag allows video playback without a plug-in.
5.) Google has releasd the Themes feature to the stable release. The feature was earlier available in the beta channel. Themes are pretty popular with Firefox and they allow the user to beautify their browser with colors, patterns and images. You can change the theme of your Google Chrome browser by visiting the Themes Gallery.
