While Twitter is still struggling to find a way of making money, there are services which have already started monetizing twitter tweets. One such service, which i too have been trying out since last few days is Sponsored Tweets. In this article, i will walk you through Sponsored Tweets and how it can help you make money using Twitter.

Sponsored Tweets is a platform which essentially connects Tweeters ( publishers) with Advertisers. Using the service, Advertisers can create sponsored conversations on Twitter for their product or service and Tweeters can earn money for spreading the word.

The price you earn by tweeting the sponsored tweets is based on factors like number of followers, number of twitter users you follow etc… Once you sign-up with Sponsored Tweets, the service lets you know the recommended price you can charge through your tweets. However, you can always change that.

In order to get started with Sponsored Tweets, follow the steps below

1.) Navigate your browser to Sponsored Tweets and signup for the service.

2.) Once you have signed up you can tweak your account to get more opportunities. Opportunities will get you the price you have updated in your accounts page.

3.) You can configure Sponsored Tweets to send you a direct message / email informing you about the opportunities. Once you get an opportunity, you can accept it or decline it.

4.) Sponsored Tweets wants you to disclose every paid tweet.

5.) Whenever you accept an opportunity and complete it, you get paid. You can withdraw the money once you hit $50.

Sponsored Tweets also offers you an option to specify the Ad Unit Type, it is essentially about who should write the content of your tweets. Either you or the advertiser can write the content. To get more opportunities, i would suggest you keep the ad unit type to Either.This is configurable through the accounts page.

Do remember that you need to have atleast 200 followers to make money with Sponsored Tweets. If you do not have 200 followers, you can still join Sponsored Tweets, but you wont be presented with an opportunity, till you hit the 200 mark.
