[How-To] Hide Yourself From Appearing in Search Results

In case if you are bugged by friend requests from people you don’t even know. You might want to modify your privacy options in Facebook. Modifying and updating the privacy options will make you invisible in search results for people. However, you friends will still be able to search for you. Just that, those, who don’t know you ( read: ” are not on your friends list”), wont be able to see you in search results.

In order to enable the above mentioned feature, follow the steps below

1.) Login to your Facebook account.

2.) Navigate to Settings — > Privacy.

3.) Once on the Privacy settings pages, choose Search and select ‘Only Friends’ from the Search Visibility drop-down menu ( as shown in the image below).

4.) Once you change the setting, You’re now hidden from public searches on Facebook and your profile will only be visible to friends.
