[Apple iPhone] Care About Your iPhone Jailbreaking? Dont Upgrade to OS 3.1.2 Yet
iPhone Dev Team has a nice and important notice on their blog which states If you care about your jailbreak and unlock, don’t update your device – 3G and 3G(S) owners should pay particular attention to this warning.
Apple has released the iPhone OS 3.1.2 today and if you have a jailbroken Apple iPhone or iPod Touch, don’t be tempted to upgrade to the latest OS. If you do so, chances are you might actually lose your jailbreaking forever.
iPhone Dev Team also informs that the PwnageTool and redsn0w are not yet compatible with 3.1.2 and that their is no set timeline for the release of compatible tools.
So for now, just ignore the upgrade message you are presented by your iTunes for now and wait for the next compatible release of Pwnage and redsnow.
As far as the Apple iPhone OS 3.1.2 is concerned, this update contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:
• Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep.
• Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart.
• Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming.
