[Windows 7] 3 Features Of Windows 7 (I Like The Most)
While Windows 7 General Availability happens on 22nd October 2009, the RTM has already released and i have been using it since last many weeks now.
This article lists down 3 features of Windows 7, i like the most.
Windows 7 is by far one of the best Operating systems ever written by Microsoft and it carries several features which just rock. However, i am only going to discuss 3 features, which I like the most. My list might be different from your’s and therefore it will make sense if you mention you favorite(s) in the comments.
1.) Problem Steps Recorder
Problem Steps Recorder in Windows 7 is by far the best and the coolest tool available in Windows 7. If you are someone who also provides tech support, you will simply love this feature. Problem Steps Recorder is essentially a screen capturing software which records all the steps and actions i.e. keystrokes, mouse clicks, etc and saves the events in a MHTML page which documents every action taken by the user alongwith screenshots.

In order to start the Problem Steps Recorder in Windows 7, type “psr.exe” ( without quotes) in the Start menu Search box or at the command prompt. When the actions have been recorded, they can be transported to a tech support executive or local help ( zipped MHTML file).

Double clicking zipped MHTML file will open the file in Internet Explorer.
2.) Windows PowerShell 2.0
Windows PowerShell 2.0 is my second favorite. It is a command line based shell scripting tool which makes it easier for system admins to automate tasks using the cmdlets. PowerShell V2 includes changes to the scripting language and hosting API, in addition to including more than 240 new cmdlets. Cmdlets are commands that perform single tasks, and scripts, which are made up of multiple cmdlets to perform more complex, multi-step tasks.

Windows PowerShell 2.0 is included by default in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. If you happen to be new to the PowerShell concept, you can read more about it here.
3.) Disc Image Burner
For long Windows didnt have a ISO burner. Till now, users had to install a third party software in order to burn a disc. With Windows 7, users get an in-built disc image burner. The best thing about the built-in Burn Disc Image Writing Tool is that it’s simply very easy to use as it’s tightly integrated with Explorer shell.
Burn Disc feature also allows you to verify if a image burning has happened properly or not. The feature works with .ISO and .IMG file extensions.
These were the 3 features of Windows 7 which i like the most. Which are your 3 best features?
