Latest Apple iPhone 3GS is Immune to Jailbreaking

Apple iPhone’s have been jailbroken since the day they were launch. Just a few days back we had George Hotz releasing Blackra1n for jailbreaking iPhone OS 3.1.2. However, all this jailbreaking might stop ( temporarily), as Apple is shipping the latest Apple iPhone 3GS with a new Bootrom that is not vulnerable to the 24kpwn exploit. Hackers have been using the 24kpwn exploit in order to jailbreak the iPhone.

MuscleNerd from the iPhone Dev-Team has confirmed that the loss of the 24kpwn exploit would mean a normal jailbreak would be impossible for the time being.

While, the 24kpwn exploit might have got fixed, there must be other exploits which am sure these geniuses will figure out in the days to come. For now, if you are looking at an option to buy an Apple iPhone 3GS and then jailbreaking it, go for an old make ( see the manufacturing date) or buy a refurbished one.
