Get Real-Time Insider Trading Alerts With InsiderTrades.org
InsiderTrades.org is an interesting web application which came out of the Yahoo Hack Day, the app works by scanning SEC systems every 30 seconds and alerts if the stock you wish to track has been traded by an insider.
InsiderTrades empowers everyday investors by providing them with instantaneous alerts when their stocks are traded by insiders. This service is free and provides notification within two minutes of the SEC making the information available.
In case if you are new to the term Insider Trading, it refers to the trading of a corporation’s stock or other securities (e.g. bonds or stock options) by individuals with potential access to non-public information about the company.
In order to get started with getting real-time alerts on insider trading with InsiderTrades.org
1.) Navigate your browser to http://insidertrades.org
2.) Type a ticker in the input box to start adding your alerts. At the moment, you can only select stocks that the system has previously seen SEC filings for.
3.) Enter your name and email address.
InsiderTrades is a project by Addy Cameron-Huff, a Canadian law student at Queen’s University and an H.BSc. graduate from the University of Waterloo.
InsiderTrades is free to use. The source is also available as an open-source initiative.
