When downloading movies using Torrents, the biggest challenge people face is often lack of description or ratings, story plot, or the actors and director information. The only fix to this till date was to look out for a movie on IMDB and then search for a torrent of the movie, however, with the release of Files24, this issue is now resolved.

Files24 is essentially a free service which gets you all the relevant data about the movie from IMDB and also lists the torrent for your download.

Another interesting feature available with Files24 is, that users can also browse torrents based on an actor or director, a feature that other torrent sites lack. With just a single click users can list all the films where Tom Hanks made an appearance, or all the films directed by Clint Eastwood.

Files24 also has a dedicated tracker that is optimized to facilitate the highest download speeds.

“We track which country users come from and the tracker then gives priority to peers from their own country. As a result users can download at much higher speeds,” Files24’s Oleg told TorrentFreak.

One of the downsides of the site is that users are only permitted to upload torrents with a Files24 tracker, so this may severely limit the number of torrents that will be added to the site. On the other hand this is also one of the upsides, since this will stop a great deal of spam and fake files from being uploaded.

Overall, Files24 is a nice concept ( though its still work in progress) and it fills a valid need for all those who download movies using torrents. For me, in India, i am a BigFlix subscriber and someone who is strongly against the idea of downloading movies using Torrents ( rather against piracy). This post is also more from an educational perspective rather than about promoting Piracy.
