There did exist earlier a Wordpress app for the iPhone and iPod Touch and the latest release is primarily an update but an update with some cool and new features and bug fixes. With the latest iPhone and iPod Touch app for the Wordpress, you can create,edit and manage content on your Wordpress blog ( both wordpress.com and self hosted blogs included).

Wordpress 2.0 app is available for free download and install on your Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. While the app provides a lot of features, all the features will only work if you use Wordpress 2.7 or higher or you are on a wordpress.com blog.

Below are the some of the key features provided by the Wordpress 2.0 App

• Support for Wordpress.com blogs and self-installed Wordpress blogs.

• Embedded Safari for true previews of posts.

• Full support for tags and categories.

• Support for multiple blogs.

• Photo Support for both camera pics and library photos.

• Ability to password protect a post, save as draft or mark for later review.

• Auto recovery feature which recovers posts interrupted by phone calls allowing you to continue your blogging.

• Support for creating and editing pages ( requires you to have Wordpress 2.7).

• Comment moderation ( requires you to have Wordpress 2.7).

• Photo resizing option.

• Posts are automatically saved and restored if network connection is lost during publishing.

If you have already been using the Wordpress app for the iPhone and iPod touch, you must upgrade to the new app ( this is a new app, though an upgrade). Remember, as this is a new app, you wont get any update alerts.

In my opinion, if you have a wordpress blog and an iPhone or a iPod Touch, Wordpress app is a must have. The multiple blog support, allows you to add and manage multiple blogs right from the single interface.

You need to be running iPhone OS 3.0 to be able to use this app.
