[How-To] View Submitted Firefox Crash Information

Whenever Firefox crashes, it sends the crash information automatically to Mozilla. The crash information sent to Mozilla is purely technical in nature and includes the technical details of the crash which are recorded when the crash occurs and can be sent to Mozilla for processing. Processed reports are given a crash “signature” which is often indicative of what caused the crash.

The crash reports submitted to Mozilla are also recorded for future usage. You can get hold of all the submitted crash reports by typing “about:crashes” on your Firefox browser. The listing contains the crash-id alongwith the date and time when the crash report was submitted.

Clicking on the crash id will take you to a page on crash-stats.mozilla.com, saying that “Your report is being processed”. When it is finished processing your report, the crash signature will appear under the ID. (e.g. nsCrasher::Crash(). Pressing Help will take you to a page which has support articles related to the crash.
