UPS Launches iPhone App (track and ship your packages from iPhone)

UPS has launched an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch  which will allow users to track packages. The app is also capable of shipping packages, however you will be required to sign-in to your UPS account for that. As per UPS, the app has been specifically designed with features that help users manage their shipments while on the go.

Coming back to the features provided by the application, here is what all you can do with the Free app.(download)

1.) Track Shipments — Tracking shipments doesn’t require you to be logged in. You can track packages and freight shipments using the tracking feature of the app.

2.) Find UPS Service location via GPS — This feature makes use of the in-built GPS feature to help you find the nearest UPS service location.

3.) Estimate Shipment costs and delivery times. – Essentially allows you to get a quote based on delivery times.

While the above three features do not require you to login to your UPS account, you can do few more things after logging in, which include

1.) Nickname tracked shipments.

2.) See your recent tracks from UPS.com

3.) Create Shipping labels to email, then print ( for US to domestic or US to international shipments).

4.) Access your ups.com address book.

5.) Use saved shipping and payment preferences.

The app is available for free from iTunes store. In case if you do not have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can still access similar features by navigating to m.ups.com from your mobile phone’s browser.
