Create 3D Views Of Same Subject Using Microsoft Photosynth
Microsoft Photosynth is a free application by the software major, Microsoft, which allows you to create 3D view from multiple photographs.
If you have multiple photographs of a monument, which have been taken from different angles, using Photosynth you can stitch them together to create a 3D view of the monument. Photosynth does the magic by analyzing the photos and then recreating it to give it a 3D view.
Photosynth is a potent mixture of two independent breakthroughs: the ability to reconstruct the scene or object from a bunch of flat photographs, and the technology to bring that experience to virtually anyone over the Internet.
Using techniques from the field of computer vision, Photosynth examines images for similarities to each other and uses that information to estimate the shape of the subject and the vantage point each photo was taken from. With this information, we recreate the space and use it as a canvas to display and navigate through the photos.
Providing that experience requires viewing a LOT of data though—much more than you generally get at any one time by surfing someone’s photo album on the web. That’s where our Seadragon™ technology comes in: delivering just the pixels you need, exactly when you need them. It allows you to browse through dozens of 5, 10, or 100(!) megapixel photos effortlessly, without fiddling with a bunch of thumbnails and waiting around for everything to load.
You can download Photosynth for free from here. Once you have downloaded the software, you will be required to create a free Photosynth account to upload the photos for which you wish to create 3D view. Once the photos have been uploaded, Photosynth will create a online collage which can be viewed online or shared with others.
Photosynth requires Silverlight 2 plugin for your browser to render the 3D views ( synths). The ideal size for a synth is 20-300 photos.

When it comes to privacy, you must know that all “Synths” are by default public and will be visible to everyone on the Internet. You can set the display preference to unlisted if you do not want your synth to be public.
If you are photography enthusiast, you must try out Microsoft Photosynth.
