Ad.ly helps you make money from Twitter

I earlier wrote about Sponsored Tweets and how to make money using twitter, Ad.ly is another application which on the same lines as Sponsored Tweets, connects Twitter users with Sponsors.

Ad.ly enables Twitter publishers to make money from the content they produce on Twitter by sending one tweet every day from advertisers that they approve. In order to ensure authenticity, every Ad.ly tweet is explicitly approved by the Twitter publisher. The publishers are able to set the price they want advertisers to pay and can optionally donate their earnings to charity.

In order to get started with making money on Twitter using Ad.ly, you must first signup with Ad.ly. Once you have signed-up, you will be presented with an opportunity from the Advertisers in your admin dashboard. As a twitter publisher, you can either accept the opportunity or deny it. If you accept the opportunity, Ad.ly will deliver the advertiser’s message into your feed.

When you signup with Ad.ly, it will suggest you a price per tweet. You can change your price at any time by visiting your settings from the publisher dashboard.

The end of every Ad.ly tweet (except tweets for charity) is marked with “(Ad)” notifying your audience that this is an advertisement. In order to ensure authenticity, every Ad.ly Tweet has to be explicitly approved by the Twitter publisher and is disclosed as an ad.

Once you have signed up for Ad.ly, you can ask your friends also to signup for Ad.ly and take home 12% of whatever they make as referral bonus.

To make money with Ad.ly, your Twitter account must be at least 120 days old and you must have at least 50 followers.

  1. Is there a particular strategy to setting price? Does the advertiser look at total following vs price asked as a determining factor? Please talk about this a bit. Thanks!
