If you are looking for a cheap GPS navigation system, TomTom GPS Navigation App for the iPhone is available for just $49.99 as part of the Christmas sale. The app is otherwise available for $100, so that’s quite a deal.

TomTom GPS Navigation App works with the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch. However, if you are not an iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS owner, The app alone will not provide turn-by-turn directions for your iPhone and iPod touch model.In order for the app to work on your device, you’ll need the TomTom car kit with its built-in GPS receiver.Only the iPhone 3G and 3GS do not require the TomTom car kit for the app to function, as these models have GPS technology embedded.

Well, in my opinion this is certainly interesting. However, i am at your place and can wait, i will wait for the Google Maps iPhone app which provides voice instructions and also gives turn-by-turn instructions for free.
