Memory Fox keeps an eye on Firefox’s Memory Usage

Often i have noticed that my Firefox browser starts hogging up my RAM and within no time, the memory utilization by the browser is shown up at 600 – 700 megs. This sounds insane, as from a theoretical and logical standpoint, a browser is just a client to render webpages and shouldn’t eat up so much of RAM. In order to get rid from this worry, i am now using Memory Fox.

Memory Fox is a memory optimizer for the Firefox 3 web browser. It is only offered for the Windows operating system and can be used to constantly flush Firefox’s memory usage.  Memory Fox contains some user-preset resource limits, as soon as the memory usage starts hitting the preset numbers, Memory Fox kicks in and flushes the memory to keep the RAM space free, thereby giving better performance.

Memory Fox is a experimental add-on and you can download and install it from here.
