In this article, i will explain step by step instructions on creating a Facebook Fan page. This article is in response to an email from Toma. Toma asks

” I am new to Facebook and have seen multiple websites or services which have a fan page. I also run a website which promotes my paintings and would like to create a Facebook fan page. Will you be able to help?”

Just in case if you are very new to the term “Facebook page” , let me give you some more background. Facebook Pages are for organizations, businesses, celebrities, and bands to broadcast great information to fans in an official, public manner. Like profiles, they can be enhanced with applications that help the entity communicate with and engage their fans, and capture new audiences virally through their fans’ recommendations to their friends.

If you are willing to create a Facebook Page, which your Fans can later subscribe to or visit, follow the steps below to create one

1.) Login to your Facebook account. If you do not have a facebook account, create one.

2.) Once you have logged in to your Facebook account, click on this link to create a Facebook page.

3.) Next, you will be required to select the Category where you page fits in. You must select appropriate category as Only the official representative of an organization, business, celebrity, or band may create a Facebook Page.

4.) Specify a name for your page.

5.) In case if your page is still not complete, you might want to check the box titled “Do not make Page publicly visible at this time”.

6.) Once you are done with the above 5 steps, you can click on the Create Page button.

7.) Next, you might be interested in filling in details into the Info tab. You must also upload a picture. You can also enter some discussion, to start engaging your fans.

8.) If you selected “”Do not make Page publicly visible at this time”, earlier in step 5, you will have publish the page before it becomes publicly visible. This can be done by clicking on the link, which says “publish this page”.
