[How-To] Delete Third Party Apps from your iPhone or iPod Touch directly

If you are a proud owner of a Apple iPhone or an Apple iPod Touch and have quite a few apps installed on your app, at some point in time, you would also like to delete these apps directly from your iPhone /iPod without connecting it to your computer.

This article describes step by step instructions for deleting third party apps from your Apple iPhone / iPod Touch directly without making use of iTunes.

It must be noted that you can only delete third party apps using the steps mentioned below

1.) The first step for deleting third party app from your iPhone is that you must press and hold one of the application icon ( it doesn’t matter which icon you hold and press). You need to keep the icon pressed till the point when all the icons on the screen start shaking like a nervous lot.

2.) Once you have completed step 1 and the icons start shaking nervously, you will be able to see a “X” in the upper-left corner of each third party application icon. Pressing this “X” will delete the third party application. Do note that this “X” will only appear against third party apps.

The above steps will help you directly delete third party apps from your iPhone / iPod Touch.

One thing which must be noted is that next time you sync up your applications with iTunes, iTunes will again sync the apps you deleted back into the iPod. In order to avoid this from happening, delete the apps from iTunes as well before you sync your iPhone / iPod Touch or select proper options to only sync the apps you choose.
