Skype 4.2 Brings 720p HD Video to Chat
Skype has released latest Skype 4.2 Beta for Windows which brings 720p HD at 1280 x 720 videos to chat. What this means is, that, if you have a high speed broadband connection, a windows machine with Skype 4.2 Beta installed, a new HD webcam and a PC which runs on 1.8 GHz dual-core processor, you can now make HD video calls for free and chat with the other party.
While on the HD videos note, it is also interesting to note that Skype software will also be embedded into internet-connected widescreen HDTV’s which will be manufactured by Skype’s consumer electronic manufacturers.Skype software will be embedded into Panasonic’s line of 2010 VIERA CAST-enabled HDTVs and LG’s 26 new LCD and plasma HDTVs with NetCast Entertainment Access™. Both lines are expected to be available in mid-2010. Both LG and Panasonic will offer specially-designed HD webcams that are optimized for Skype video calls as separate accessories that can be plugged into the televisions. These webcams support 720p HD and include special microphones and optics that can pick up sound and video from a couch-distance.
