Find Out Why Your Computer’s Hard Disk or CPU is Working for Free

Often there are times when you are curious to know as to why the heck is your hard disk LED burning or your CPU fan is making more noise even when you are not working on the computer, in such situations, usually my first bet is on the Task Manager, however, Task Manager doesn’t exactly tell you which process is using what.

When it comes to your computer, If you are interested to know what process is taking your CPU, which process is using the Hard Disk, you can try out the freeware software called What’s My Computer Doing.

Whats My Computer Doing shows you all the currently executing programs/ processes, that are accessing your hard disk or using the CPU. Furthermore, it even allows you to shut down these programs or even uninstall them right from the software.

2.) Whats My Computer Doing works on Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows NT ( Sorry, No Linux or Mac Support).

3.) The software screen automatically keeps on updating with the latest information. You can however freeze the updation by clicking on the checkbox titled “Freeze”.

4.) When minimized it sits in the system tray.

5.) You can directly terminate a process, open a folder or close a program from the software.You can even check the program properties.
