If you have a touch-based Windows Mobile 6.5 device, you can customize the user-interface with interesting color scheme, menu and balloon window style alongwith a custom photo wallpaper which you can then view from the top level UI’s and not just the Welcome screen. This is something which you cannot do in an Apple iPhone.

You can create your own Windows Mobile 6.5 Theme using the web-based Custom Theme Creator for Windows Phone. The Custom Theme Creator works with Windows Mobile 6.5 touch-screen phones. (Click here for list of compatible phones)

1.) If you have a Windows Mobile 6.5 touch-screen phone, you can get started by clicking here and launching the custom theme creator.

2.) Once you have clicked on the link in step 1, you will be required to select the phone.

3.) Next, select a color scheme for the phone.

4.) Once you have decided on the color scheme, click on the link which says “Wallpaper your Phone”. Upload a image which you want to be the wallpaper for all top-level UI’s.

5.) Once done with above steps, click on the button which says Generate your theme.

6.) You can then name your theme. In order to get the theme on your phone, you have two options.

a.) Using the web based utility you can send the download link for the theme to your Phone via SMS. You will be required to enter your mobile number and press Send for this.

b.) You can save the theme to your computer and then transfer the theme to your phone using ActiveSync.
