Often there are times when you have to login to a computer and for some reason, you no more remember the password. It can be the case that you were never aware of the password or you simply forgot.

In case if you ever need to reset the password of your Mac OS X, this article will list down the steps required to reset a Mac OS X password.

1.) Reboot your computer.

2.) Hold Apple+S when booting to enter single user mode.

3.) #sh /etc/rc

4.) #passwd yourusername

5.) #reboot
