The world’s largest professional network, LinkedIn has just introduced new profile sections, where you can highlight your achievements, honors and awards, add test scores & courses you attended and excelled etc., Gear up to project your skills and merits you acquired, right there on LinkedIn! I’m sure that will just do the job of getting you a dream offer, as Linked In is a powerful tool that will help you network with the other professionals – recruiters, hiring managers and job consultants. New Students Section in LinkedIn
Add Projects to show your practical skills you gained through your classroom learning, your effectiveness and readiness to take up a team work. Honours and Awards section lets the recruiters know about your expertise in a specific area. Also, add your test scores that will showcase your analytical, problem solving and language skills scores. High test scores in these areas will instantly catch the eyes of any prospective recruiter. Have you volunteered and contributed for an on-campus symposium or an intercollegiate fete? Add them in ‘Organizations’ sections to tell your recruiters about your leadership skills. You also get a space to list all the courses you attended to hone your skills in a specific subject.
How-to Add New Student Sections in your LinkedIn Profile
- Go to your LinkedIn profile page in edit mode and click “Add sections” bar under your profile summary.
- Browse the available sections and select a section to add to your profile.
- Add the relevant content to the section – your skills, experience etc.,
- The new section will now appear on your profile
- You can also adjust the settings to control who can see the sections.
LinkedIn has reached another milestone by adding the new students section that will help students to set a progressive career track, with the help of thousands of seasoned professionals already in the network.
